Sheikh Mohammed launched a comprehensive plan that entails Dubai’s urban development. The seventh plan of its kind that has been implemented in Dubai since 1960. The Dubai 2040 urban master plan focuses on utilizing the city’s space while concentrating development in existing urban areas.
The plan includes the development of five main urban areas. There will be a twenty-five percent increase in the spaces designated for health and educational facilities. Sixty percent of Dubai will be for nature reserves, and there will be about four hundred percent extension of beaches. The Dubai 2040 urban master plan aims at making Dubai one of the best cities to live in.

The population in Dubai is currently at 3.3 million and is expected to swell to 5.8 million. The master plan aims at transforming the emirate and balancing the community with modernity and tourism. Fifty-five percent of the population will start to live within main public transport stations.
The plan’s overall essence is to increase the quality of life while the population density around mass stations increases. The plan includes the 134 percent expansion of hotels and tourism areas. The areas used for industrial, economic, and commercial activities will also increase to 168 square kilometers.
